The Field Delivery Engineer will provide technical and operative support inside and outside the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Infrastructure planning, preparation and implementation of assembly work on-site
• Responsibility for the antenna layout/alignment and its mechanical attachment
• Customer support during commissioning and test phases, also on-site
• Direct cooperation with customers in network planning with customer IT and during on-site test phases
• Responsibility for the areas of purchasing/procurement and supplier search
• Taking over of inventory management and order management (ABs, LSs, offers, REs)
• Taking over of RMA management and project management
• Travel to customers and partners for on-site support and training, as part of a global network.

Requirements

• An organised individual taking ownership and able to prioritise work with an ability to make decisions with limited supervision, and where no obvious process is available.
• A team player, able to easily form relationships with external customers, partners and with other divisions of the company.
• BS/MS or PhD in Electronics or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Fluency in English and German, high standard of technical communication – both verbal and written. Fluency in German is a plus.
• A willingness and ability to travel to customers and partners worldwide.
• Appreciation of the commercial issues surrounding the provision of support.
• Good understanding of the challenges of wireless communication and wireless location. A plus is if you have experience in at least one of the following location technologies in more depth: UWB, Wi-Fi, BLE, Chirp, LoRa, IMU, GPS, AoA, TDoA, TWR.

Desired

• Proven record in delivering customer-facing support, both on-site and remotely via email and telephone.
• Detailed knowledge of wireless communication protocols like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and how they are implemented in hardware and software.
• Expertise in hardware and software development, debug and test relating to embedded wireless products, knowledge of relevant tools like python, Matlab and C.
