Challenges of RTLS implementation in the 2.4 GHz spectrum
The implementation of new technologies often underlies very strict rules for the use of frequencies, so far the implementation in the 2.4 GHz spectrum has been considered a big challenge in many industries and sites.
For our automotive inventory project, @Wirepas successfully passed tests in customers´ simulated environments at 2.4 GHz and was approved without conditions for manufacturer whitelisting!
This enabled fully battery-operated RTLS Infrastructure without interfering with critical WiFi traffic. Assets equipped with Wirepas Massive enabled TAGs autonomously connect via this meshed infrastructure to the Backend. The real-time data is delivered to the INTRANAV positioning engine, which calculates location and connects to the automaker’s own secure cloud environment via the INTRANAV platform.
The INTRANAV Inventory APP used in this case enables real-time equipment management of all assets including filter and search function of the corresponding internal identifier of each asset, which provides further information about the category, type and specificity of the asset. With the inventory history, all movements and downtimes can be analyzed for process optimization of warehouse logistics.
