With a huge selection of model variants to be produced, the question arises as to how this high variance of production parts can be monitored and all quality standards mastered. This concerns quality assurance as well as scanner-based booking and cycle control of individual production steps on the assembly line. The production plant of our customer consists of several pre-assembly and main assembly lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>For an international agricultural and <\/strong><br><strong>construction machinery manufacturer<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our customer is a German, internationally operating manufacturer of agricultural and construction machinery. In one of the most modern production facilities in Europe, all-wheel steered wheel loaders, teleloaders and telescopic loaders for the construction industry, agriculture, gardening and landscaping are manufactured in individual production.<\/p>\n\n\n<section id=\"image-with-information-points\">\n    <div class=\"container\">\n        \n\t\t\t<div class=\"large-image-with-pattern-bg\">\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/intranav.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/01\/AdobeStock_207237072-scaled-e1611238244521.jpeg\" >  \n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t  \n\t\t\t  <h2>Requirements of our customer <\/h2>\n\t\t\t  \t\t\t  <ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\t  <h6>1<\/h6>\n\t\t\t\t  <h4>Assembly Line Real-Time Location Tracking<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t  <p>Precise (\u00b1) 10 cm real-time localization information where all assembly steps are located as well as about the boxes, containers, load carriers and racks located on the assembly line, which are manually pushed from cycle to cycle.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t  \t\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\t  <h6>2<\/h6>\n\t\t\t\t  <h4>Automatic sequence feedback<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t  <p>Partial automation of status information by automatic clock update so that following clock can start.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t  \t\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\t  <h6>3<\/h6>\n\t\t\t\t  <h4>Eliminate scanning and <br> posting steps <\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t  <p>Manual scanning processes, such as material, takt-related transaction posting or plausibility checks, are replaced by auto-ident postings (auto-ID).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t  \t\t\t\t<li>\n\t\t\t\t  <h6>4<\/h6>\n\t\t\t\t  <h4>Sequence-related <br>automation triggers<\/h4>\n\t\t\t\t  <p>Production-related information can be called up virtually; in addition, setup processes start automatically by means of programmable logic control (PLC).<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/li>\n\t\t\t  \t\t\t  <\/ul>\n\t\t\t  \t\t\t  \n\t\t    <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Solution from INTRANAV <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We enabled our customer with the intelligent production control a smart solution, which serves the company as a basis for all further Industry 4.0 &#8211; digitization steps. The <strong>INTRA<\/strong>NAV Real-Time Location System, based on ultra-wideband technology, is to form the foundation for further automation solutions in production and logistics. The production line was equipped with the <a href=\"https:\/\/intranav.com\/en\/iot-rtls-suite\/rtls-uwb-tracking-system\/\"><strong>INTRA<\/strong>NAV.<strong>RTLS<\/strong> <\/a>system, which provides workers with accurate real-time information about the production status and location of boxes, containers, load carriers, and racks located on the assembly line. The information is digitized and visually displayed as a Digital Twin via the <a href=\"https:\/\/intranav.com\/en\/iot-rtls-suite\/intranav-io-the-enterprise-iot-rtls-platform-for-the-digital-twin\/\"><strong>INTRA<\/strong>NAV.<strong>IO <\/strong>RTLS platform<\/a>. Workers can thus see in real-time: which material is used in which cycle, where material replenishment may be required, whether the production steps are running synchronously or whether there are time deviations, or to what extent delays are to be expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Individually defined virtual cycle zones (geofences) mean that the production cycle is automatically recorded as completed when the production piece and the load carrier are moved through the virtual zone. This means that the next cycle is informed in real time about the status and can start with the next step. Automatic cycle feedback ensures quality standards and eliminates errors, so that no process step is omitted. This also saves workers time, as manual scanning is no longer necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With <strong>INTRA<\/strong>NAV, virtual zones (geofences), which are individually defined by the customer for each cycle via the <strong>INTRA<\/strong>NAV<strong>.IO<\/strong> platform, replace manual scanning and booking processes with auto-bookings (auto-ID). The process transparency gained by the integrative, independent IoT RTLS platform ensures compliance with quality assurance and individual manufacturing steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Non-value-adding activities, manual scanning processes that are now replaced by automatic cycle feedback, are reduced. The time that is now &#8220;freed up&#8221; can either be used to accelerate or increase the output quantity or to implement quality assurance measures. The elimination of sequencing errors leads to the avoidance of rework, as well as empty cycles\/idle times and the avoidance of excess material on the delivery area.
